Aerospace Mold Making Course

High-Quality Parts Start with High-Quality Molds

In the race to create better machines, traditional metals are increasingly being replaced with composite materials. Composite parts are created using molds, but the process of designing and building molds can be challenging.

The DarkAero Aerospace Mold Making Course will give you the knowledge and hands-on skills required to design and build high-quality molds so you can make high-quality composite parts!

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course is for anyone who wants to take their composite projects to the next level! If you want to build better composite parts, while saving time and money, this course is for you. The lessons taught in the course have helped students create airplanes, sailboats, racecars, drones, and eVTOLS.

The Aerospace Mold Making Course complements the Aerospace Composites Course, but each can be taken independently.

Testimonials

"Thank you so much for the course. At the Friday happy hour after the class, the attendees (most of the class) were all commenting on how much of a 'cheat code' your time, efforts, and expertise has given us to leap forward in our projects. I’ve spent the day ordering materials and tools, and am excited to get going."

Ryan C.
Engineer, Formula Race Car Simulator Project
"The DarkAero composite and mold courses were worth every bit of effort invested to attend. The courses increased my composite knowledge and abilities exponentially. I would recommend these courses to anyone interested in building with composites. The courses are high yield and will help you make better composite parts more successfully."

Dan N.
Vans RV & Zenith Kit Aircraft Builder

"I wanted to let you guys know just how great the experience was. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and I left with the confidence to move forward in creating the first molds. I plan on returning for the composites course once my mold design is finalized, and I look forward to another information-filled visit!"

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course is structured as a mix of classroom lessons and hands-on demonstrations in the shop. Basic tools and materials are discussed as well as mold design, process optimization, and industry secrets. Examples specific to student applications are used to immediately apply what is learned.
Hands-on demonstrations are presented for a variety of mold construction methods ranging from simple, low-cost molds up to advanced multi-section machined molds. Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining tutorials are provided to enhance the course lessons.
